Sister Myriam Meus, FMA is a Christology teacher at ILS who is always involved with students and has a great time being a teacher for the sophomore class.

Sr. Myriam knew God was calling her for a better life.

“I entered religious life in 2011. I have been a Professed Sister for about 12 years. I had decided to follow this path because deep within I felt that the Lord was inviting me to be his spouse.  I answered God’s invitation,”she explained.

Sophomore Dante enjoys having Sr. Myriam as a teacher because he feels engaged and joyous in her class.

“I’ve had Sr. Myriam for a couple months know and I feel like I’ve been learning so much from her. She has taught me more about God and how the Catholic religion really works. She has taught me different things even without using the Bible,” he explained.

Sister Myriam is one of newest sisters to work at ILS.

“This is my third year at ILS, and I have enjoyed every second of my ministry here. As Sisters, we receive assignment; we call it obedience. God, through my superior, has sent me to ILS to work in his vineyard, bringing young people to Him.”

As a sister she does many different things which most of her students would not be aware of.

“The first thing that we get to do in any giving day as a Sister is to pray and go to Mass. Afterwards, we go to our ministry to work with the young people. We live community life which means that we eat together as a family, have recreation and more,” she said.

Sophmore Alessandra Alvarez has always liked Sr. Myriam, and is learning moral values and more from her.

“Ever since I started having Sr. Myriam, I’ve learned a lot of things that have to do with my morality. She has taught me things I can do to be seen in God’s light,” she said.

Sister Myriam is looking forward to her upcoming years at ILS. Working in such a beautiful community is life-giving to her and she can’t wait for the rest of the 23-24 school year.
