As finals week approaches at Immaculata-La Salle, students across campus are preparing for one of the most important academic stretches of the school year. Exams covering material from the entire semester are causing many sophomores to shift into full study mode. This year students are also reminded of an important policy: only those with a course average of 90 or above are exempt from taking the final exam, increasing the importance of final assignments and tests.
Across campus, the atmosphere has become more focused and serious. Students are spending more time reviewing notes, completing study guides, and attending review sessions offered by teachers. Many are also working in study groups to help each other prepare for multiple exams happening within a short period of time.
Sophomore Brianna Puglisi explained her strategy for staying on top of the workload.
“I try to study a little bit every night instead of cramming all at once because it helps me actually remember everything,” she said.
Her approach reflects the importance of consistency as students try to manage multiple subjects at once.
Her mindset highlights how preparation throughout the semester can help reduce anxiety during exam week.
Even with the pressure, many students are motivated by the upcoming break. Serena Pazos explained what keeps her going during long study sessions.
“I’m just trying to push through because after finals we finally get to relax and enjoy summer break, so that keeps me going,” she said.
Like many students, she is focused on finishing the year strong in order to enjoy a well-earned break afterward.
Teachers at ILS continue to encourage students to take advantage of review materials, tutoring opportunities, and classroom support as they prepare. With the 90-average exemption rule in place, students are especially focused on improving grades and maintaining strong performances before finals begin.
As finals week nears, students across ILS are working to balance stress, preparation, and motivation. While the workload is heavy, the shared goal remains the same: finish the school year with confidence and success.
