Keith Grupenhoff skippered, and Soleil Aurignac crewed to third place in B division. Jadin Gonzalez and Marco Andres were heavy air crews for varsity that unfortunately didn’t get a chance to sail. ILS JV 1 finsihed 2nd – with David Coates skippering and Lucia Martinez-Moore crewing to 2nd in A division, and Leonardo Terzani skippering and Marina Wardlaw crewing to 2nd place in B. ILS JV2 finished 3rd, with Beck Brill skippering and Kristian Gutierrez finishing 3rd in A, and Isabella Henrich skippering with Alejandro Escudero finishing 4th in B.
A solid showing for ILS sailing as they head into the final stretch of the season. The final South Points ranking regatta will be held in Vero Beach on March 16. The south points series qualifies the top teams to compete in the District Qualifier for Nationals, which will be held on April 27-28 at the College of Charleston. ILS sailors headed into this event ranked 1st in the SAISA south rankings, although they may slip slightly with this recent event, they are still on track to finish well in the division and make the qualifiers.
