The one bright spot was the boys’ doubles 1 pairing of Simon Munera and Alvaro Castro Mendivil who managed to pull off one of the more entertaining match wins against MAST’s doubles 1 pairing. With that win, the boys have a great chance of being seeded either 1 or 2 at the district tournament.

The following day, the girls’ and boys’ teams both travelled to Riviera. This has been an evenly fought match over the past few years with the Riviera girls always getting the win and the ILS boys’ team always getting the win. This year was no different. The Riviera girls’ teams are a very strong group the whole way through their line-up. The girls were able to pick up a in the doubles number 2 spot to leave with a 6-1 defeat. The boys team started strong with wins in the number 1, 2 and 3 position with Simon Munera, Joshua Hernandez and Alvaro Castro all getting wins. With losses in the 4 and 5 spot, the boys needed one of the doubles win to secure the match. Simon and Alvaro teamed up again to get a win the doubles 1 spot. Joshua and Vigo Anduix also grabbed a win in the doubles 2 spot to give the boys a 5-2 win.
