For the Class of 2024, there are only a few more months left until they are bound for college and leave Immaculata-La Salle behind. How are they feeling? How are they doing it? The Royal Courier wanted to check up on seniors to see how they were handling the stress.

In addition to school, they have college admissions, college essays, SAT Testing, and Senioritis. Despite all the additional responsibilities on their plate, they don’t feel too much pressure.

“Yes, the workload is a little more than before; although, it really depends how prepared you are from junior year for college related things,” said senior Jasmine Finley.

In order to stay organized and on top of their assignments, they manage time by writing things down to ensure they finalized all their work.

“Just so I don’t fall behind or get stressed, I keep a planner or a checklist for me to follow and make sure I get everything completed,” said senior Sophia Janulionis.

Looking beyond the workload, they view college as an exciting new journey, expressing that they are more than eager for what lies ahead.

“I am excited to meet new people and experience something new,” added Jasmine.

Yet, even with her eagerness and readiness, there is a little bit of grief in leaving her friends behind.

“I am going to miss my underclassmen friends. It’s bittersweet to be leaving the school you’ve made so many of your friends at,” she continued.

Mentally, senior year has been relieving compared to junior year. With senior privileges and prom on their mind, many are ecstatic.

“Last year was a stressful year. But with all the fun events and privileges I get as a senior, I already am enjoying this year much more,” said senior Mia Marquez.

The seniors essentially are enjoying their last year here at ILS despite the additional work for college preparations, and are looking forward to the new path that awaits them after graduation.
