Lion Print Speedos Could be the Solution

How to Solve the Swimming Team’s Lack of Student-Body Support

The current everyday swim attire worn by members of the swim team.

Swimming, an overlooked and relatively small sport here at ILS, consists of merely five girls and five boys.

“I wouldn’t consider swimming a big sport here at school since the team only has 10 kids,” said sophomore swimmer Lucas Young.

With such a small number and lacking support from the student body, the team barely receives any familiar onlookers during their eight meets throughout the season.

“I probably should, but I don’t attend swim meets and I don’t know of any classmates that do,” admitted junior Gina Weinstein.

This unfortunate reality is harsh to accept; although it seems as if a solution for this very dilemma might be resolved with a simple fix: exotic and entertaining uniforms!

“I don’t attend any swim meets but if they had a fire design on the speedos and leotards, I would most definitely make an effort to go.”

— Sophomore Sienna Ríos

Surely, the designs that the students wish to see could be reaching and unattainable, yet they might provide a motive for students to go and support their swim team.

“I think if the team acquired and advertised new and fun uniforms to the students, everyone would want to go,” Gina added.

The team themselves think their attire is satisfactory and helpful for their racing, but with knowledge of the possible benefits, they are welcoming to the intriguing idea.

“The speedos are fine and allow me to go fast. But if students will show up if we wear fun uniforms, then I’m willing to give it a shot,” Lucas added.

Unfortunately, any possibilities of accomplishing this feat this year might be squashed as the season is well underway, yet the idea still remains for future teams to come. Who knows? You might possibly be tempted to go to the next swim meet after hearing about the lion print uniforms the team will be showcasing.
