As the IlS Football season kicked off, the Royal Lions began playing their preseason match against Gulliver Prep. After a slow start, they finished by winning the match 28 – 7. Once the season started, they played against Miami Jackson Senior High where they continued to win with a score of 20-14 having scored three touchdowns. An important match they played was against their long-time rivals Belen, and went on to play a great match winning 34-0. With all these victories came their first defeat with the Royal Lions losing a game to Booker T. Washington. Though they scored three touchdowns and started off with a lead of 20-14, they finished 20-35 gaining them their first loss of the season. Coming back from that loss they won their Homecoming game scoring 46-16 playing against Somerset Pembroke.
